About This Game
D.U.M.B. Squad is a short one-sheet TTRPG where quasi-bomb-diffusing experts go and try to find a way to stop bombs from exploding, evil AI from taking over the world, and sentient toilet seats from eating all the toilet paper. Gather a few friends and answer that neighbor's call because when the DUMB squad phone rings it means trouble.
A very funny and yet very serious type of trouble.
To play this mini RPG, you will need only one ten-sided die. So for any action you take, your roll is the same, but every action is set within an area of "expertise" and that area is directly connected with the type of character you play. Therefore even though the rolling mechanic is as simple as it gets, the outcome may vary.
Since it is a " contraption setting-off " type of game, there is a default 10-minute timer that you can set on any smartphone stopwatch. The amount of time was deliberately set to 10 minutes to keep the games tense, funny, and short. The timer should start once the squad is inside the spot where the contraption is located.
You can feel free to adjust that time if it is too short or maybe too long for your D.U.M.B. squad.
You can buy items from the D.U.M.B. shop that cost real-time, they make the game sort of easier, but at the same time, it is shorter so you'll have less time to actually figure things out. I recommend you play a few games without items before feeling confident enough to go and shorten your game length.
A note for the GMs or as we call them D.U.M.B.E.Rs , please adjust the bomb puzzles to be something players can figure out in 10 minutes, don't go too deep into something that is impossible to solve in such a short time.
Judging by the squad's name, they're not geniuses.
